Satisfying the increasing demand for smart phone and tablet covers

In 2009, Allan Darling, Thomas Bjørk and Christian Dilling-Hansen started PhoneGadget as a small hobby company, selling smartphone covers purchased in the Far East. With backgrounds in the financial sector, they started their new venture cautiously, but soon realized that the demand was much bigger than what they could accommodate from their modest home office in the evenings.

From new facilities in Ringsted, Allan, Thomas and Christian grew their business to include sales of customized smartphone covers. For this niche, they invested in a VersaUV LEF-12 - a benchtop UV flatbed printer that changed their business completely.

"When we first saw an LEF-12 in action, there was no doubt that this was the printer we needed to grow our business. The LEF-12 has changed our business drastically," Darling, said. With an LEF-12 as their only production tool, PhoneGadget has been able to deliver printed covers with photos and graphics that are both stunning and personal. "Our customers can use our online system to upload their favorite picture or graphics which we then print directly onto a smartphone or tablet cover," Darling said. "Scandinavian customers expect high quality products and thanks to the LEF-12, we deliver just that."

To meet increasing demand, PhoneGadget is currently looking to invest in a second Roland printer. "We have been really pleased with the LEF-12- it delivers beautiful prints and is easy to operate. What more can you ask for?"
