Student-led Success at Campus Banner + Design
Campus Banner and Design | Clemson, South Carolina
Universities are great places for learning about all kinds of things, including business management, graphic design, and print production. Clemson University’s Campus Banner + Design in Clemson, South Carolina offers its student employees a chance to try out these skills in an on-site business environment.
Campus Banner + Design serves the University, its student and athletic groups, and the surrounding community. Clemson Master of Business degree candidate Alex Taylor manages the shop, overseeing a staff of up to 30.
To keep its production humming, Campus Banner + Design relies on Roland. The shop uses a Roland SOLJET large format inkjet printer, and recently added an XR-640 printer/cutter with metallic and white ink.
With its built-in high staff turnover rate, having easy-to-use, low maintenance production equipment is a high priority. “Rolands are easy to work with and very reliable. Plus the service we get is outstanding,” said Taylor.

Most of the shop’s daily production is run for various administrative departments on campus. CB+D runs sheets of decals and promotional banners daily, as well as mounted signs and wall wraps.
CB&D also produces wall graphics, banners and signage for the tennis, soccer and baseball teams. They designed, produced and installed 500 square feet of wall graphics for the campus’s Olympic weight room. They also produce and install vehicle wraps for the University’s cars, small buses, and even golf carts.
Taylor and his crew recently completed a job for Clemson’s Jervey Gym which included several large wall murals and was the shop’s largest student-run project to date.
“Everyone had a hand in it, and it came out really well,” said Taylor. “Jervey Gym is both a popular venue and a showplace for the University and it was important to make this job a success. Our Roland equipment helped us deliver great results.”
